Ingredient to Avoid: Phenoxyethanol by theorganicbunny on July 7, 2023July 7, 2023 Found in approximately 24% of our products, including green beauty products, Phenoxyethanol is a preservative to prevent bacterial growth and, for me, one of the best ways to quickly spot if a brand is greenwashing. Sadly, I do see this ingredient used in most clean beauty brands today so it is a hard one to avoid! Of course, using a product here and there with Phenoxyethanol is not something I worry about but when used alongside other disruptive ingredients, collectively over time, that is when things can start to go wrong.
