Let’s talk SLUGGING! I am too old to keep up with all of these new, emerging trends but many of you asked my opinion on this trend so I wanted to share what I found after consulting with Alex, our in-house, Organic Bunny holistic Esthetician!
For me, one of the hardest parts of starting a new healthy habit is, well… just that- starting. Sometimes it can be so overwhelming and you can feel that small changes don’t matter so why do them? Well, I am here to remind you that small changes DO matter and DO make a difference as every toxic item we can remove from our life is a win, right!? When it comes to clean beauty though, it’s hard to know which items will work for the majority of my customers.
Want to keep your lips nourished to combat cracking and signs of aging? ???? If so, the key is to use an Organic lip balm like this Tela Beauty Anti-Aging lip protection!

I never knew how easy it would be to find so many organic skincare options when I first began to make my switch to safer products this year, but honestly, the possibilities are endless! About a month ago I came across another company called Ayushi, a beauty brand that specializes in making one of a kind, Vegan, Organic and Natural beauty items. I noticed that they had several rose scented products and because rose is my favorite, I just had to try them out.
I also loved what they stood for after reading more about them online, not only do they make safe, beautiful products, they also are the first company to be the official sponsor for the Northeast Organic Farmers Association. Working with organic farmers and local communities to help spread awareness of our ecosystem is an essential aspect of our operations which is amazing to see them be a part of.
All Ayushi products are:
Certified Organic and non-GMO
Free from all Parabens, Petroleum, Formaldehyde, PEGS, artificial color & synthetic fragrance.
PETA certified (No Animal Ingredients/ No Animal Testing)
Suitable for all skin types
Completely handmade, straight from lush farms nourished by the tropical climate of Kerala, India
If you love pretty things, in pretty packages then this post is most definitely for you! If you are into green beauty, you probably have heard about Lina Hanson’s products by now, but if you haven’t yet, let me tell you a bit more about her line! I first came across Lina’s products when I was looking for an organic perfume and discovered her Satori Perfume Oil. Not only is this perfume 100% natural, made from luxurious and aromatic oils, it holds up well and even comes in a cute and convenient little roller ball application. This perfume truly smells great, awakening the senses with its warm vanilla, sandalwood, and refreshing Japanese yuzu and ginger scent!
After falling in love with this super safe fragrance, I had to check out her other items, which lead me to finding this Limited Edition Gift Box, featuring ALL of her fabulous items in one pretty package for just $200. I have only used these items for a few days now, but I wanted to share this box while it was still on sale because this really is a great deal. The perfume alone was $105.00, so to know you get to try out all of her items for $200 seems too good to be true! About $53.00 off the original price.
I love finding unique products which is why I was super excited to come across Being Skincare, a handcrafted line of small batch, organic and vegan bath and body products based out of the Pacific Northwest.
BEING was created to remind people how important it is to take care of themselves because in this wild world of never ending responsibilities, it’s easy to put yourself last and to become disconnected from what matters the most. BEING is all about taking the time and space to treat yourself with love, all while being present in the relaxing moment.
Nutrient-rich ingredients, of the highest quality, have been thoughtfully selected for their curative properties, using a holistic approach designed to indulge the senses and responsibly care for the skin. This means that unlike other bath and body products full of harsh chemicals and fillers, every ingredient in each BEING product has a purpose.
For as long as I can remember I have had problems finding a shampoo that did not leave my scalp itchy and irritated. I always thought that it was something I was eating, but after reading more about what is in my beauty products, I realized that it was definitely an ingredient in my shampoo that was causing my irritation. Because I love/want/need a good lathering shampoo, I was sad to learn that what allows my favorite Acure Organics shampoo to lather, Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate, actually could be the cause of my scalp irritation.
While the Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate in Acure Organics shampoo is naturally derived from coconuts, because of the high amounts, it can pose a threat to those with a sensitive scalp. The risks associated with this ingredient are low, the only issue really being that it is a detergent that can irritate sensitive scalps causing scalp psoriasis or eczema. If you do have a sensitive scalp, check your shampoo for Sodium Lauryl Sulfate or Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate, as either could be the cause of your irritation.
So now that we are all having to ditch all our old shampoos, what should we use instead? Well, for a while I didn’t have a solution. I would simply use less of the shampoo on my scalp and hope for the best, which never worked. And then it happened, I came across an organic line called Aleavia which claimed to be 100% organic, prebiotic and known for it’s amazing ability to clear up acne, rosacea, eczema, dry skin and psoriasis, all while helping balance your skin’s PH level.
