I was really pleased with the thickness of the plastic as it is heavier than most. This is quite a long clip as well so it holds my thick, waist length hair in place. I also noticed my hair hasn’t gotten caught in the actual joint of the clip. The colors are matte. For the price, it’s good having 3 quality clips compared to 10 cheapo ones
