Kjaer Weis Organic Makeup Review

Ever since I started using organic makeup, I saw so many green beauty bloggers using Kjaer Weis, a higher end organic makeup line, however, because of it’s price, I held off until I could learn more about the product to see if it was the right fit for me. After reading endless blogs on the brand, I finally have started my own little Kjaer Weis collection so I am here to report back on the items I have tried so far. This truly is one of the most luxurious organic makeup lines out there today, so if you are a fan of all things fancy yet safe, this is most definitely the line for you.

After reading endless blogs on the brand and being convinced of its awesomeness, I finally have started my own little Kjaer Weis collection and I am here to report back on the items I have tried so far. This is truly one of the most luxurious and glamorous organic makeup lines out there today, so if you are a fan of all things fancy, yet safe, this is most definitely the line for you.

For those of you just learning about Kjaer Weis, it is known best for:

Kjaer Weis Cream Foundation-

I have my fair share of foundation favorites, however, this one brings something entirely new to the table. While this is an amazing, full coverage foundation, this also can be used as a concealer and eyeshadow primer as well, this foundation is truly a miracle product, one I will surely have in stock at all times, for the rest of my life. This foundation can appear a bit pricey but 1. It’s so much safer for your skin, justifying the cost and 2. The shiny Kjaer Weis products are refillable for much less the second time you order.

I have the Kjaer Weis foundation in the color Just Sheer.

How to Apply-

I use this product as a full coverage cream foundation, a concealer, and a shadow primer, by simply applying it on the areas needed. This product’s role can be easily adjusted by simply adding more when and where it’s needed. Need to cover a blemish, but don’t want a full face of makeup? Dab a little on. Want a lighter coverage? Apply with a lighter hand. Want a full coverage? Simply layer it on to get a heavier coverage, without that caked-on makeup look.

To apply this as a foundation, it works best to use the Kjaer Weis blush brush, yes blush brush! Many people suggest using your fingers when applying this product, however, it can be very time consuming that way and it is also much better for the skin to use a clean brush for application. At one time, Kirsten did advise girls to apply this with their hands, but she has since updated her preference, suggesting a brush instead. If you do not have a foundation brush, you can also apply it with a beauty blender which may take a bit more time.

To use this as concealer, I like applying this product with a medium sized eyeshadow brush, simply dotting on coverage where needed.

What Moisturizer Works Best Under?

I did notice that some people had complaints about this foundation not sitting right on their skin which is why I must note that what you put under this is critical. You will want to use a facial oil before applying this, as hydrated skin is needed for this to perform correctly.

One of the best moisturizers to use for this is the Kypris Antioxidant Dew mixed with the Beauty Elixer III. Both of these products are also pricey, however, a little goes a long way and your radiant, flawless skin and makeup will surely be worth it over time.

You can find both of these at my store by clicking here!

What Powder Do You Set This With?

I have a few favorite powders, however, I like to use the RMS Tinted “Un” Powder on top of this foundation for a truly flawless finish. Because this is a loose powder, I can apply a small amount in select areas to really give it a polished off look.

What Bronzers & Blushes Work Best With This?

Because this is a cream foundation, I like to use cream blush with this as well. I have never ever been a fan of cream colors before, but Kjaer Weis really creates amazing cream blushes that pair awesome with this foundation.

I currently am using Desired Glow a bronzed cream blush, however, they have a variety of colors available. Desired Glow is ideal for Light to Medium skin tones, delivering a subtle bronze tone that gives the sense of a fresh tan.

I like to apply my foundation first and then use a beauty blender or fingers to dab this color onto my cheeks. I then apply the RMS Powder to complete the look.

Overall, I am positive that when applied correctly, this is an amazing foundation that absolutely everyone will love. As long as you are moisturizing properly, this really is great for all skin types, leaving you will flawless foundation you’ll be wishing you had discovered much sooner in life.

    1. What you put under this really, really matters! It has to sit properly in order to last all day. Mine was a mess until I got my base down solid. I would email Melissa from Citrine Beauty (My fave online green beauty store) she works wonders getting this stuff right! I have dry skin so I am not sure about oily skin, but I know she will know! Plus I have a 10% off code if she has any stuff for you to try! (organicbunny at checkout) Her email is Let me know what she says so I can share it!

  1. I’m the same as Natalie, the foundation just seems to sink into my pores and not sit right when I apply it. I really want to make it work as I’m trying to make the change to cleaner products. I’ve just sent an email to Melissa as per your recommendation so fingers crossed I can get my skin just right for the make up. It looks amazing on you! I love your blog by the way and look forward to reading further reviews!

    1. Yes! Lets definitely see what she has to say, for sure! Mine, again, didn’t work until I got the moisturizer right. After I did it’s been beyond amazing!

  2. HI! Have you ever tried RMS “un” cover-up or Vapour foundation, I am debating between the three, I tried Vapor but I feel a layer on my skin and it makes me look oily at the end of the day. I haven’t tried the RMS nor Kjaer. I know you mentioned already that Kjaer is favorite, but what are your thoughts on the other two? I need a good coverage and I am super sensitive to regular foundations, I need something photo ready 😉 Thank you !

  3. Hi Amanda, I just found your blog and I love it! I have to ask, what are you using to make your hair this crazy shiny?! I went no poo for a while but have recently been using a shampoo bar from Chagrin Valley Soap & Salve Co. and a conditioner from Babo Botanicals. Anyways I would love to know, about to go get my Kjaer Weis on… 🙂

  4. How matte is this product? I tried the Lauren Brooke Cosmetique’s cream foundation and it was way too dewey for me. I have also tried the Sappho Organics foundation and thought it was good, though could go for a bit more matte.

Also, as for coverage. Would you say this provides just as much coverage as the 100% pure foundation you have tried?

    1. This has amazing coverage, especially when paired with a powder like RMS or Jane Iredale. Super FULL coverage. It is semi-matte which is why I use the powder to become more matte… definitely the best Organic foundation on the market!
