Elate Cosmetics Spring 2015 Collection
One of my favorite green makeup lines, Elate Cosmetics, has just released a handful of new Spring items, and because I’m a sucker for all things new, I had to try them out. Elate Cosmetics was one of the first lines I came across when starting to clean up my beauty routine, therefore they will always hold a special place in my heart/ makeup bag.
Some of the top reasons I love Elate Cosmetics are:
- Their items score super clean on the Think Dirty app, they are very safe to use!
- Their eyeshadows come in plantable pouches, they grow wild flowers!
- They’re cruelty and chemical free, vegan and organic.
Now that you know overall why I love this company, let’s check out their latest Spring items! I will review each item I ordered, starting with my most favorite items first.
Lipgloss in Sprightly-
I rarely wear peach colors because for some reason I just don’t like them on me, however, this Sprightly peach lip gloss turned out to be super hydrating while offering a pretty pop of Spring color. This gloss is actually very pigmented, but because it’s a gloss, it has a very nice shine to it as well. This color lasted on me about 2 hours before needing to be re-applied.
What’s cool about this Universal Cream product is that it can be used anywhere you are looking to add a splash of color! This Universal Cream can be used on lips, eyes and cheeks! Because it is on the more sheer side of things, I prefer to use these creams mostly on my cheek as a subtle, but sweet blush.
Cream blushes can be tricky to use, the key for me is to add them right after I apply my liquid foundation so they blend in well without smudging. Another way to use these is simply on your bare skin, sometimes I love just applying a facial oil and a smidge of color for effortless, quick color.
I have a few of Elate’s lipsticks, their vibrant red being one of my all time favorites, however, these more sheer colors are very nice for days that you want a quick, light dose of color. I ordered two colors Vivacious and Nude, my favorite being Nude, a taupe/ brown color.
I would compare these lipstick colors to tinted chapsticks, as they are not very pigmented, but because they are made with such amazing ingredients like Organic Mango Seed Butter, Organic Shea Butter and Organic Jojoba Oil, this is a great way to keep your lips hydrated with a pretty pop of color.
I ordered three new shadows from Elate this month, Ethereal, a loose gold shimmer powder, a pressed olive green color, and a pressed brown color. My favorite of the three shadows is the loose shimmer powder, simply because I can use it every single day. I love using this sparkle dust under my eyebrows, on upper cheeks and even on my lid for more natural looking makeup days!
